Restore Windows Time service to default settings


To execute this procedure we need to stop Windows time service
Run from command Prompt.

C:\>net stop w32time The Windows Time service is stopping. The Windows Time service was stopped successfully.

To reset all the settings to default run from command prompt

c:\>w32tm /unregister C:\>w32tm /register W32Time successfully registered. 

Restart the windows time service

C:\>net start w32time The Windows Time service is starting. The Windows Time service was started successfully.

The commands executed before will change the registry keys under

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\Parameters

and also can see the current settings running in command prompt: w32tm /dumpreg

C:\>w32tm /dumpreg
