EMC Avamar Register Client Command Line


From command prompt run. avregister  command

cd %Program Files%\avs\bin
c:\progrom files\avs\bin\avregister %server% %client policy group%
Stop Service
 C:\net stop "Backup Agent"
 The Backup Agent service is stopping.
 The Backup Agent service was stopped successfully.
%Program Files%\avs\bin>avagent --quiet --init --daemon=false --mcsaddr="server" 
--dpndomain="client policy group" --logfile="C:\DOCUME~1\%username%\LOCALS~1\Temp\1\avagent_cmdline.log" 
avagent Info <5241>: Logging to C:\DOCUME~1\%username%\LOCALS~1\Temp\1\avagent_cmdline.log
Start Service
C:\Program Files\avs\bin>goto :start_agent
C:\net start "Backup Agent"
 The Backup Agent service is starting.
 The Backup Agent service was started successfully.

It’s done.

    awesome stuff, now how can i add this to an automated vbs or bat file to run cmd (with elevated rights) perform the avregister command with the server and client policy group ? I tried changing the avregister.bat file to do it but it’s not working. I want to make a group policy to run the installer and activate Avamar silently and autmatically.
